Design: Q: Can you take my image from a sign or paper document and convert it into a digital media file? A: In most cases, yes. There are rare occurrences when images have transfer problems (generally due to pixel deterioration of the document or sign or a bad/corrupt scan) but we will work with you on this. Q: Can you take a flyer that my company has used in the past and convert it into a postcard? A: Of course, in fact having a basic design layout will tremendously decrease the design time. Ideally we would like the image in a digital media format (like Adobe or Corel Draw), however we can work with color flat-scans or images and see what can be done. Q: Once you create my project, are all the image media files mine? A: Yup. Postcard Marketing, Inc. is paid for the time and creation of the files, not the actual file itself. We do typically keep the files on hand for reoccurring clients, but we will never resell or attempt in any way to obtain the rights to images paid to create. Once a project is complete if you would like to have the media files on a disc or emailed (in a compressed file — they can be large) just ask and we will send. Q: Can my company use your graphic design artists without other services? A: Yes, however the more services you use, the more time and cost effective your project becomes. Q: I’ve already had a graphic design artist create exactly what I want. Do I still need to use your design services? A: Not at all. We are extremely versatile when it comes to our clients. If you feel comfortable using another graphic design artist that is okay (never feel pressured by things like this). There are, however, restrictions on the images (more specifically, the image has to be in 300dpi Print Resolution or higher, and the back must be in postal regulation...just make sure your designer understands print material layouts). Q: What programs do you use for design? A: We currently use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Corel Draw. Q: What is the typical turn around for graphic postcard design? A: Postcard design depends on the job (like most creations). The more Information you can provide for us, the faster the job will be. We typically spend one hour designing a postcard layout, send a proof and see what the company does/does not like about the image, and then continue working by hour/updating proofs until we come up with what you want (We’ve yet to have an instance when a client says, “I like nothing about this postcard.”). We do, however, have fill-out forms regarding design and your sales representative will describe and discuss them while on the phone or via email. The sales representative can send you three template images to help guide you in the direction your company feels comfortable with. Q: I have a question not posted on your FAQ. Help me! A: Not a problem at all, please contact us at support@postcardsmarketing.com. |
